My Experience in the Audition of F1 Model Ambsassdor 2013.

I have attended the audition of F1 Model Ambassador 2013 today.

These are the ambassador models in the past.

The theme for this year (2013) will be Batik.

But unfortunately, I failed at the second stage :(

If you are curious of the audition, I'll share what I know with you here.

Few days ago, I received an email from a model agency inviting me to this audition. The email kind of surprised me because I have never worked with this model agency so God knows where they got my email from and how they know my height. FYI, all shortlisted candidates are at least 168cm as this is the minimum height required to be one.

First stage.

Photo: So one gotta pass this to be eligible to be the ambassador model for #F1 race #petronas

You gotta pass this.

Thank God my head reached the line! But, I was the shortest candidate there so for those who thinks I am tall, imagine how 'gigantic' the other models were =/ It wasn't this strict in the past few years tho, I have friends with the height of around 160cm getting the job.

The audition took place at the 41st floor of Petronas Tower 1, which is the floor where the bridge of Twin Tower located. Since I was there already so I took the opportunity to take pictures :B

Candidates who past stage one were each given a number after we got our actual height (without heels) and our vital statistics measured.

Number 7 was apparently not my lucky number because I didn't get the jobbb!!

These are not even 5% of all candidates.

There were candidates from Hong Kong, China, Europe, Indonesia, Russia etc. I guess this explain that our country is severely lacking tall beautiful girls so we need foreign models to represent our country in F1 races =/

We were grouped into small groups of 5 before entering the room. There were two lines on the floor. One was where we were asked to line up and another one infront was where the microphone stood. 7 judges were sitting in the room. When will walk infront to introduce ourselves through the microphone when our name was being called. After everyone has taken their turn to do so, the judges will each vote us with either green or red card.

One can move on to the next stage if she gets at least 4 green cards but unfortunately, I got only 3 *sobs*

100+ girls amongst all ( I have no idea how many hundreds candidates were there) were shortlisted to undergo the 3rd stage. 3rd stage is an eliminating stage where only 58 girls will be chosen.

Eventhough I have not made it to the end, this audition has served as an eye opener for me. The quality of the girls invited were rather high and they've intimidated me. Not only they are pretty but they are charismatic, which is one thing I lacked. This audition has taught me that being beautiful is not all that makes you stands out but being confident is the key.

What will be next for those chosen 58 models?

They will be checking into Pullman Lakeside Hotel Putrajaya a day before the qualifying race. Two night stay until the race day are sponsored. They will be practicing their walks in the circuit and be briefed on the jobscope. Official workday will be on qualifying day as well as race day.

So this is all about the audition for F1 Model Ambassador.

Last but not least, thank you to all who have shown their support and encouragement via Instagram, text messages and FB. Sorry to disappoint you *sobs*

Have a great weekend! :)
