Trust me, no amount of sunblock can save you from suntanned.
So a friend suggested that the next time I should apply sun-tanned lotion instead since I am going to get tanned anyway.
No way, seriously. Even if I have to run around like Pocahontas I still want to have skin like Snow White's.
I have already booked my trip to Sipadan so I must pen down everything about my last visit to Sabah before the next one comes. I smell your worry, I am worrying the same thing as much as you do. It was and still one thing I worry most because Lahad Datu is just next to Tawau, where I will be landing before I visit Sipadan.
Look at this:
We will be so near to the war zone *shivers*
Don't miss me ya if I don't come back *touchwoodtouchwoodtouchwood*!!
Pulau Sapi is one of the five cluster islands that make up the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.
The word Sapi means cow. But why cow?
The rational behind was that, the island shaped like a cow so the Bajau gave it that name.
Pulau Sapi is one of the most beautiful islands of the 5 so for those who didn't want to spend too much time exploring all 5 islands, go for this one and you'll go back home without regret.
These 5 islands include Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sulug. If you are looking for a stay, you might want to consider Pulau Gaya as resorts are available.
And for your information, Pulau Sulug has been closed for visit if I am not mistaken.
Pulau Sapi is accessible via two places: Jesselton Pier and Sutera Harbor.
The time taken to travel from the two places to Pulau Sapi are very much the same but Jesselton offers a cheaper ride so we went for Jesselton.
Visitors park their car at the car park next to Jesselton.
Choose an agent to bring you from the jetty to the islands you wished to visit.
Remember to bring water so that you don't end up suffering from thirst.
Don't worry if you have forgotten to, there is a small kiosk next to the ticket counters.
Here's a brief of what to do:
1st: Pick your destination. It can be a few.
2nd: choose your favourite water sports. (optional)
And then you are ready to go!
We have not chosen any water sports because we have other plans after this so the boat ride only cost each of us not more than RM50.
Thank God the sky was clear.
The rain has fallen for like a few days during my visit.
The rain has fallen for like a few days during my visit.
Pick a life jacket that suits your size.
Say hi to the baby boyfriend who has never live a day without his cellphone.
15 minutes and be ready to be amazed by the heavenly scenery!
I use my sun glasses to filter the scenery so you can see how enormous our Mount KK is.
If you still couldn't figure out which is mount KK, look at the protruding shadow next to the cat fairy. It's so tall it goes into the clouds!
Pulau Manukan from a distance.
The captain of the speedboat drops the other passenger to Pulau Manukan before bringing us to Pulau Sapi.
The water was so crystal clear you can see what's on the sea bed.
The boat was empty when all passengers went off to Manukan leaving the both
of us.
Manukan Island and Sapi Island were so closed to each other that it took only about 5 minutes speedboat ride to arrive.
The two islands were somehow connected to each other.
When the tide ebbs, you can even walk across the islands as they were joined by land.
How I wish i can dive like them!
I searched in Google saying that there are sometimes rare sea creatures like the harlequin ghost pipe fish and mandarin fish. Snorkeling is just so not enough I am very tempted to get myself a diving licence to explore what's under the sea!
The place was so heavenly beautiful I couldn't stopped clicking my camera!
The TAR islands are maintained by the Sabah Parks so everyone has to pay the island entrance fees of RM3 for Malaysians and RM10 for non-Malaysians.
If you do not have your own snorkeling set, you can rent them here.
Sorry ah the water sucks at this angle.
Can you see fishies at the right hand side of the picture?
The water was so clear that it seems to have the magical ability to heal all sickness!
The darker parts are where most corals gather.
Getting ourselves ready to be bullied by the fishies.
We met Grumpy the fish.
And one of his fella friends who has bitten boyfriend's leg.
We have no idea who was the real culprit.
Don't get me wrong, these fishes are quite friendly just that they are curious so they might peck you to see if you are their food.
I was so enthralled by the beautiful and colorful fishes I totally forgot where the mild tide pushed me until baby pulled my leg suddenly. It was kinda annoying it feels like you are watching a video and somebody slammed your laptop screen.
"Stay away from that area, there is a baby jelly fish."
Ok I stayed away and went nearer to see how's the jelly fish looked like. Been staying in the city for too long I haven't really seen a real baby jellyfish. It was so tiny like you can catch it with your palm. I wanted to snap a picture but in the speed of lightning, the fishes have already torned it into pieces.
The jelly fish looks very much like this.
This is actually a plastic bag. If I am a turtle, I will eat this away and die from suffocation.
If you cannot dive and snorkeling doesn't sound exciting to you.
Try Sea Walk.
When I saw this I have totally no idea what was that until I see the poster where people were dressing up like astronauts. Instead of going into the space these astronauts get under the water.

Good thing about this is, you wont get your hair wet, your mascaras and eyeliner smudged.
Still can take beautiful pictures.
I was so freaking tired after visiting the island and I have no idea how people can survive visiting all 4 islands in the same day! We went to a very good indian food restaurant nearby Jesselton jetty.
The Nasi Briyani here was so awesome.
Just nicely scented. You know right? Too much spices can make the dish turn bitter.
This is no ordinary mamak stall. The restaurant was sophisticatedly decorated with a bicycle hanged on one of its wall. The interior of this restaurant is made up of concrete and woods so I guess it can be easily found.
The name of this restaurant remains a myth because I couldn't remember the name >">
I don't usually enjoy eating muttons like this because they are often cut to the extend I couldn't tell which part it belongs. And most of the time muttons like these are consisted of sinew. Which are not bite-friendly.
The cut size of this muttons were just nice and not too much sinews.
Juicy fried chicken :9
These are made of old bananas.
Old bananas are basically dry and tasteless. The textures are like dry potatoes but slightly more sandy with a little bit of fibres.
I don't drink things that contains caffeine because I am allergic to caffeine.
Baby said this is so far one of the best Teh Tarik he had.
If my house's window displays this field, I will go down for a tee on every good weather day.
The price to be a member in this club is as much as the price of being a member of KLGCC!
Stay tuned to our stay at Sutera Harbour and more about Kota Kinabalu.
