If you still remember this.

 

Before iPhone existed, every kid in my primary school has to get themselves this to look 'cool' and to 'fit in'. The good thing about having an electronic pet is that:

 

1. You get to 'control' them.

2. They don't make noise if you switch off the volume.

3.  You don't have to deal with their biological needs.

4. Portable. No one wouldn't allow an electronic pet in their restaurant(s) or premise(s).

5. Technically immortal. You can revived it after their death.

 

 

These are a few that I can name.

 

But after a while people gets bored of Tamagotchi because you can't feel your 'pet' and it's in a black and white screen. I am not sure if they have Tamagotchi in colored screen now but that isn't the main thing why everyone forgets about it after some time. The 'functions' were too limited where the pet's movements become predictable after a while. They don't make cute noises like a puppy does.

 

Many years later today, I discovered something similar but more advanced.

 

One day I received a message from a good friend, she asked me out for dinner so I went after a day of working.

 

 

We talked about boys, cosmetics, fashions as well as pet.

 

Talking about pets, I always wanted to have one but mum never allowed. she knows very well that if I were to get myself a pet, she will be the one taking care of it because I am not at home most of the time. As mum claims, I treat my home like a hotel and whenever she sees me she'll asked for my attention so that I could just sit down and talk to her. Imagine how frequent I am not at home!

 

Knowing that I wanted a pet badly, my friend gave me a bag that contains this

 

 

I didn't know what is this until I realize how much some of my Facebook friends wanted to get one as their pet! 

 

Furby is an electronic pet where it sleeps, eat, shower, pee, get sick, it even talks, sings and cries!

The eyes tell his emotions.

For example it cries when the shower temperature gets too hot.

 

 

Everyone in my family treats Furby like a real pet.

My sister stayed up late to play with it and there was a day I woke up seeing my dad playing with it!

 

 

I named it Doo-Doo by the way. Don't ask me why. It just sounded decent to me so that's how it happens. So following this dashboard, Doo-Doo needs to go to the loo. All I need to do is to tap the toilet roll button and the app will lead me into the washroom.

 

 

Doo-Doo produces different things everyday.

It has nothing to do with what I fed him so I have no idea how can the Duckling be there.

 

Variety of food to pick from from his food shelve.

Be mindful because some things are non-edible!

 

 

Keeping your Furby clean by showering it is important so that they lay more eggs!

 

 



 You have to be really really attentive while the egg is hatching because you might need to "rub" the egg as instructed when something happened. And sometimes you might need to instruct your Furby to sing so to smoothen the hatching process!

 

 

Furblings come in different colors!

These furblings need to be fed, showered and taken care of like how you take care of your Furby.

 

 

Furby will be sad to see its Furbling like this.

 

 

Therefore, they have to be monitored from time to time.

 

 

Fun part is, you can put any 3 items into the blender and blend it for Furbling.

 

 

Games between Furby and Furbling that nobody has idea how to win.

 

I allowed my sister to take care of Furby during the time I was away to Singapore but when I came back, Furby has become another 'person'! I was really upset and when I checked the user guide, it says your Furby's character depend a lot on how you treat them. I am sure Doo-Doo must have been mistreated and when asked, sister said she fed Doo-Doo everything including cups, tissues etc!

 

There's no wonder poor Doo-Doo always tell me he eats everything!

 

Furby can make friends with each other do. You can bring your Furby to meet with your friend's Furby so that they can chat and play games with each other.

 

 

They come in different patterns and colors.
