I am not a fan of durian except Musang King. I was asked to taste by a friend years ago during our trip to Gohtong Jaya during durian season. Being a 'layman' I was rather resistant at first but after a while of persuasion I surrendered and took one to taste. And man, I fall in love! After that I realized there are actually many types of durian, some mimics the taste of Musang King and some taste even better. To me durians are good durians as long as its flesh are fat, firm, smooth, creamy and sweet or I don't mind a little bit bitterness. Oh reasons why durians are not my favourite because I don't like the smell lingers around my fingertips and also the horrible smell of durians from burpings.
Mum's company organized a trip to a durian farm located in Kuala Pilah and I thought I would not be going since I am never a fan. The idea of having durians in a durian orchard excite my family except me. But, I surrendered under her persuasion and went as her companion. Oh and to add onto the excitement, participants can have as much durians as they please at no cost!
We woke up early at 6am and left to Kuala Pilah aiming to reach at about 8-9am to taste the freshest durian possible. Durian usually ripens and falls at dawn so if you want to taste the freshest of freshest you gotta stay up and watch out whole night at the durian orchard.
These were all the durians collected by the durian farmer this morning. The crowd finished everything and the durian farmer was kind to bring another basket to us from the farm!
Ants love to crawl on durians so handle and store them cautiously. We were all bitten mostly by ants than mosquitoes!
I only had a piece because I wanted to avoid smelly burps so most of my time were spent taking pictures. Hehehehe!
She blamed dad for not helping her to carry otherwise she would walk home with more.

I wish I can name this besides just "durian". And as you can see, they are fat, creamy, sweet accompanied with a little bitterness.
