Any parcel that comes into a girl's mailbox can easily brightens her day (Of course we would not be pleased by prank parcels!). So, one boring weekday this nicely wrapped parcel came into my mailbox.
A huge sticker at the corner of the envelope reads "Muffin". There's nothing edible here but a beauty review social platform especially designed for Asians! Why only Asians not the ang moh (Europeans)? If Ang Moh needs cosmetic reviews how? For the babes who are very social media savvy might have already know what are Birchbox and Makeupvalley. They are product review platforms that works like TripAdvisor.
I rely quite a lot on tripAdvisor when I am oversea to search for places to eat. What I normally do is I type for example, "Best restaurants in Hong Kong", and TripAdvisor would suggest restaurants to me based on genuine ratings made by diners who have visited the restaurants suggested. The higher the restaurant ranked the more popular the restaurant is.
I find the reviews rather reliable simply because I see negative reviews here and there although some restaurants come with high ratings ie. 4/5 with 5 being the highest. If reviews are paid by merchants might as well make everyone says good words and get Tripadvisor to remove all negative comments right?
Other than that, Tripadvisor also helps you compare prices of not only restaurants but hotels and flights.
Alright so now you know how Tripadvisor works, MuffinBeauty is the beauty version of Tripadvisor. Why don't we use Makeupvalley and Birchbox since they have already existed long ago?
Reason #1
Prices shown on products from the abovementioned beauty review platforms are not in our own currency so you might find it difficult to calculate the actual price of the product as currency fluctuates from time to time. Also, we might not be sure of how much tax will be imposed on imported goods.
Reason #2
Some of the products reviewed might not be available in the country we are staying at. Product price might end up becoming more expensive than it actually worth if we ship them to our country.
Reason #3
Our skin condition and texture might not be the same as the Europeans hence some reviews might not be applicable to Asian's skin.
Muffinbeauty allows you to receive FREE products for reviews! To be eligible for their product redemption and review program you must first be a member of Muffin Beauty Club. Now you know my secret to get the above parcel from Muffin! Let's unwrap and find out what's in it!
What contained in the parcel was a product by Bourjois. You might not be familiar with Bourjois as they are quite new in the Malaysia market. As far as I am concern they are already selling in selected Watsons store. Price wise are as wallet friendly as Maybelline and LO'real.
Lash Machine is an eyelash booster that helps you achieve fuller and longer lashes. This product is especially cater for those who has shorter and thinner lashes.
Step #1
Apply your own mascara as usual.
Step #2
Sweep Lash Machine right after just like how you got your mascara applied.
Lash Machine will not destroy your contact lens and eyes but may cause slight discomfort when they fell into your eyes. Discomfort level are like your own eyelash fell into your eyes but not as prickly because the fibres are featherly soft.
Note: You might want to hold your breathe while applying so that you don't inhale the fibres.
Step #3
Coat your mascara on top once you are done applying Lash Machine.
I have naturally sparse and shorter lower lashes and Lash Machine has helped pulled my lower lashes into shape!
Can you see how having fuller and longer lashes enlarged and brightened my eye?
Lash Machine can be easily removed with any makeup remover made to remove waterproof mascaras.
I wear no eyeshadows but only mascara coated with Lash Machine in this picture.
I have no complain about Lash Machine except it is a little time consuming to apply because the fibre does not attach to your eyelashes easily. They are too light hence it takes a while to make them sit in place. However, applying fake lashes might take longer if you are not skilled to do so.
I have also written my review on Muffin Beauty for the ease of reference to those who needs to do comparison and research before deciding on their purchase.
